My haunted castle ghost story - To my readers, a summary of the tale
Do you believe in ghosts? Jake Eden and the kids sure do. Haunted Nights at Drumheller Castle is a compelling, timeless and classic ghost story of autumn and the Halloween season in all its brilliance. The story highlights landmarks and historic places and adds a touch of nostalgia to this great fictitious ghostly tale set in the quaint town of St. Charles. The author dabbles a bit with history from the beginning of the railroads, cistern pumps, and original ghost tales (written by the author), bringing the 1800s to life again. Drumheller Castle is a ghost story intertwined in other ghost stories and exciting adventures. It’s a tale of a spiritual journey as a heart finds its purpose.
As a child, Jake was stricken with a fever and a short illness, which was believed to be the beginning of his paranormal powers. Although it is hard for him to accept, after his illness, Jake can speak with, see, and transcend time with ghosts. While struggling with his paranormal powers, Jake also struggles with a looming feeling that there is something extraordinary missing from his life—a gap or emptiness of some sort that haunts him. One night, Jake is visited by one of his ghosts. This strong yet peaceful spirit has watched over Jake since his illness and has come to give Jake a great message. She tells him that the answers he searches for will come to him.
Jake is accompanied by seven lifelong friends. He sets out for cemeteries, haunted railroads, and, of course, the haunted castle Drumheller in search of his own life’s mysteries. He and his friends encounter characters like Old Man Wiggins, Dead Man’s Tree, and, inevitably, the ghost of Mark Drumheller. While doing all this, the kids look forward to and anticipate the evenings of ghost story telling with the local folk storytellers. They have waited all year to hear about the ghost cowboy, the old lady from the outhouse, and the wondrous cornerstone tale of the prince of Casa Del Sueno.
Tossing and turning one night, Jake has a dream and a chance encounter with his deceased great-grandfather. The story explodes with what is to happen next. The promises of the female ghost who visited Jake in the beginning of the story are about to come true. Jake and his friends are to dig up a grave, find a gold key, discover a vampire’s hanging coffin, explore a haunted castle, and escape Dead Man’s Tree. Jake uses his paranormal powers to sustain the impossible, and the kids use all of their abilities to overcome any and all obstacles.
Most of us search for our divinity, but with a collision of fate and destiny, Jake will discover his suspended in this turbulent yet joyous tale of his life’s purpose.
